I think the analogy to minimalist painting is accurate, though not particularly so for the works in this show. I've seen images of Rossiter's work where "all" she did was develop long-expired photographic paper in the darkroom to see what was there. I suppose a better term for this practice might be "non-interventionist" photography...works that are not only cameraless but also imageless and quite literally without mark or action of hand at all. The works in this current show, by contrast, seem to be about reinstating the hand into the work.
